TG2

The Chandler Limited TG2 is

a recreation of the rare EMI TG12428 pre amp used in EMI/Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles in the late 60s and early 70s. The sound was used on many famous recordings done at Abbey Road including The Beatles “Abbey Road” and Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon.” This microphone pre-amplifier features the same discrete transformer balanced amplifiers as the TG series limiter and offers a creamy, smooth tone with a surprisingly open, clear top end (dare we say nicer than Neve). The sound, as explained by many users, has the Neve “warmth” and punch, but with a “nicer” expanded top end. In fact the unit does have a small rise in its top end frequency response and some warmth inducing distortion which contribute to its sound.

All TG units require and function on the PSU-1, Chandler Limited power supply.

Germanium

Warm, Organic,

and Chandler’s Most Vintage Sounding Pre Amp Yet! The Chandler Limited Germanium Pre Amp/DI is a completely new microphone pre-amplifier design by Chandler Limited designer Wade Goeke that uses classic germanium transistors in an all class A, transformer balanced circuit. The use of germanium devices opens a whole new sound palate not found in any pro audio equipment currently manufactured. These incredibly smooth sounding transistors were the basis of the earliest transistor designs by Neve (1053, 1055, 1057), EMI (TG12345 MKI), Telefunken, and Fairchild. Those familiar with these units can attest to the special sound of the germanium transistor. The GERMANIUM series runs on +40 volt power, high current, and has a huge +34 output before clipping. The sound is warm and smooth, as with many vintage style circuits, but you’ll find a whole new world of smooth here, as well as a sound that settles in perfectly to your tracks without fighting. The Germanium uses Chandler’s new custom wound transformers that combine the best parts of our favorite St Ives and Gardners input and output transformers.

All Germanium units require and function on the PSU-1, Chandler Limited power supply.

Germ Pre 500

CHANDLER LIMITED furiously enters

the 500 race with its new line of 500 Series Modules for your favorite lunch box! Using all discrete circuits that combine Chandler’s best designs with the hottest designs from the past, transformer balanced everything, and the American handmade quality you expect from Chandler, the 500 Series Modules will take your lunchbox or rack system to the next level! The Germ 500 MKII is an updated version of our original Germ 500. This unit has an improved faceplate layout and nicer look. It uses classic germanium transistors in all Class A, transformer balanced circuits. The Germ 500 MKII is our well-known Germanium Preamp adapted for 500 series racks. We use the same transformers and amp blocks to assure the sound is consistent with our rack version. We’ve updated the power on the MKII so there no known power-up issues with current lunchboxes and rack systems.

Little Devil 500

CHANDLER LIMITED furiously enters

the 500 race with its new line of 500 Series Modules for your favorite lunch box! Using all discrete circuits that combine Chandler’s best designs with the hottest designs from the past, transformer balanced everything, and the American handmade quality you expect from Chandler, the 500 Series Modules will take your lunchbox or rack system to the next level! We’ve been told by beta testers that this might be the best piece of Chandler gear yet! What makes the Little Devil Pre so special? Well, several things. The Class A gain stage sounds like no other design we’ve done. It’s big, yet open and full of life. Just about any parameter of the sound is changeable including the ability to change both the Feedback and Bias of the amplifier. The Feedback control increases harmonics thousands of times over the range of the control. The nature of clipping and distortion also changes and ranges from soft Class A clipping to super soft gushy tube type. The sounds range from a very colored and “overbiased” tone to a gently colored and “in your face” tone. Other features of the Little Devil Pre include High and Low input impedance; transformer balanced line in for using the Devil as a color box on mixes or tracks; low cut; bright switch and more! This unit has no power-up issues with lunchboxes and rack systems.
